 Revelation 21:4
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

FATHER,

TELL ME WHY IT HURTS SO BAD, THE PAIN WON’T GO AWAY

I ALWAYS TRY TO SMILE AND LAUGH, BUT CRY BEFORE I PRAY

I KNOW I SHOULDN’T HAVE A DOUBT, OR THINK I’VE LOST CONTROL

BUT THERE ARE TIMES I CLOSE MY EYES AND SEE MY BURNING SOUL

THE FAITH I HAVE HAS GROWN SO MUCH, AND FEAR HAS GONE AWAY

BUT THE DEVIL SHOWS HIS FACE, EACH TIME I KNEEL TO PRAY

I’VE TRIED AND TRIED TO JUSTIFY, AND STILL CAN’T REACH MY GOAL

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TIMES I SEE MY BURNING SOUL

BUT AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE, I’M IN THE BOOK OF LIFE

NO MORE PAIN, NO MORE TEARS, NO MORE DEATH, NO MORE STRIFE

I KNOW THE DEVIL WANTS IT ALL, BUT JESUS FILLS MY HOLE

AND NOW THAT ALL MY PAIN IS GONE, SO IS MY BURNING SOUL.

I PRAYED MY WAY TO JESUS

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Be cheerful no matter what;  pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

FATHER,

THE DEVIL TRIED TO TELL ME LIES AND TAKE ME FROM YOUR GRACE

THAT’S WHEN I GOT ON MY KNEES AND SOUGHT TO SEE YOUR FACE

NEVER ONCE DID I BELIEVE A WORD THAT HE WOULD SAY

I CLOSED MY EYES BEFORE I CRIED AND ALWAYS PRAYED MY WAY.

I REMEMBER WHEN MY HEART, WAS BROKEN INTO TWO

I TRIED TO LAUGH THE PAIN AWAY, BUT THOUGHT MY LIFE WAS THROUGH

IT HURT SO BAD, TO KNOW THAT I, HAD SUCH A PRICE TO PAY

I CLOSED MY EYES BEFORE I CRIED AND TRULY PRAYED MY WAY

NOW I PRAY WHEN THINGS ARE GOOD, NOT ONLY WHEN THERE BAD

I PRAY NO MATTER WHAT THE TIME, HAPPY, MAD OR SAD

I PRAY AT NIGHT BEFORE I SLEEP, AND PRAY TO START MY DAY

I CLOSE MY EYES BEFORE I CRY AND ALWAYS PRAY MY WAY

IM JESUS’ NAME,

TRAPPED INSIDE A CAGE

 Psalm 31:4

Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me, for I find protection in you alone.

FATHER,

PULL ME FROM THIS DEADLY TRAP, THE WORLD HAS SET FOR ME

IT FEELS LIKE I’M INSIDE A CAGE, AND SOMEONE STOLE THE KEY

EVERYTIME I READ YOUR WORD, THE DEVIL TEARS THE PAGE

JESUS CAME TO SET ME FREE, BUT I’M TRAPPED INSIDE A CAGE.

PLEASE HELP ME IN JESUS’ NAME,

IN GOD’S HANDS

1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. ”

FATHER,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORDS, YOUR WORDS THAT LIFT ME UP

THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT OF GRACE, WITH WHICH YOU FILL MY CUP

THANK YOU FOR THE FOOTPRINTS, THAT WALK ME THROUGH THE SANDS

THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO BE INSIDE YOUR HANDS

PSALM 51

 For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

¹ Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. ² Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

³ For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. ⁴ Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. ⁵ Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. ⁶ Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

⁷ Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. ⁸ Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. ⁹ Hide your face from my sins     and blot out all my iniquity.

¹⁰ Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. ¹¹ Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. ¹² Restore to me the joy of your salvation     and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

¹³ Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. ¹⁴ Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. ¹⁵ Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise. ¹⁶ You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;  you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. ¹⁷ My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

¹⁸ May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem. ¹⁹ Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous, in burnt offerings offered whole; then bulls will be offered on your altar.

IF IT WASN’T FOR THE PRINCE OF PEACE, WE’D HAVE NOWHERE TO RUN

IF IT WASN’T FOR THE KING OF KINGS, THE DEVIL WOULD HAVE WON

IF IT WASN’T FOR THE BREAD OF LIFE, THIS LIFE WOULD BE NO FUN

TAKE ME BY THE HAND

 Psalm 31:15

My times are in your hand; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue
me.

FATHER,

TAKE ME BY THE HAND, AND HELP ME TO MY FEET

EVERYTIME I TRY TO SIT, SOMEONE TAKES MY SEAT

I DON’T WANT TO RUN THROUGH ALL THE FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

I JUST WANT TO WALK WITH YOU, SO TAKE ME BY THE HAND

EASIER SAID THAN DONE

  Matthew 14:27-29

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

FATHER,

MY BODY WANTS TO COME TO YOU, BUT MY MIND IS SO AFRAID

I KNOW THAT WHEN I FINALLY DO, MY SOUL WILL HAVE IT MADE

I HEAR YOU TELLING ME ALL DAY, TO FOCUS ON YOUR SON

NO OFFENSE MY LORD, BUT THAT’S EASIER SAID THAN DONE

I’D LOVE TO WALK ON WATER, AND NEVER HAVE A DOUBT

I’D LOVE TO FILL MYSELF WITH YOU, AND CAST THE DEMONS OUT

I’D LOVE TO HAVE MY COURAGE TURN MY DREAMS INTO SOME FUN

NO OFFENSE MY LORD, BUT THAT’S EASIER SAID THAN DONE

IF ONLY I COULD CLOSE MY EYES, AND STEP OUT PAST MY FEAR

IF ONLY I COULD SEE MY HEART THROUGH ALL THESE CLOUDY TEARS

IF ONLY I COULD LEAVE THIS BOAT, AND WALK OUT TO YOUR SON

NO OFFENSE MY LORD, BUT THAT’S EASIER SAID THAN DONE

TODAY IT’S EASIER DONE THAN SAID

BECAUSE OF YOUR GRACE BY WHICH I HAVE BEEN SAVED THROUGH FAITH

I STEPPED OUT OF THE BOAT
